Case Study: 1991 Kawasaki KX 125

A customer was restoring a 1991 Kawasaki KX 125 and was looking for a high standard finish. They looked at shot blasting components but wanted a finer finish, they also looked at other aquablasting companies but they use the Glass Bead technique. So they chose Aqua Blasting UK for the best possible finish which use's the finest Ceramic media to give the outstanding results shown in the picture."

A little about myself and why I have started Aqua Blasting UK.
I am Wayne Hall and I have been building and restoring classic cars for many years. Historically, I have been very successful in showing my cars competitively, winning many concourse events. I have a very keen interest in classic cars but also motorbikes and scooters, recently buying myself a stunning Lambretta. Over the years, I have tried all methods of cleaning metal components and found that aqua/vapour blasting is a far superior method in restoring the finish back to new, a visual impression makes a significant difference. Not only is it gentle but its more effective.

Aqua Blasting UK will provide a high level of service, providing an outstanding level of ‘attention to detail’. I don’t want you to get your parts back from blasting where they are just OK and the attention to detail was poor, pitting/corrosion in hard to reach places etc. When I say cleaned, I mean cleaned, for example, your love and dedication go into restoring a classic and my work will reflect that. I will assure you that each part/component I clean will get 100% attention and that you will not be disappointed.

FAQ

What can be cleaned using Aqua Blasting?: It is suitable for a range of metals including Aluminum, Bronze, Magnesium, Titanium, Brass & Copper. Not suitable for Steel. For other metals please contact us.
Can it be used on Plastics?: Yes, engine covers are a good example. We will make an assessment of your part beforehand.
What are the advantages of wet blasting over dry blasting?: Wetblasting produces a finer finish than dry blasting and is ideal for the cleaning of more delicate components. The Aquablast machines use a water and abrasive slurry to simultaneously blast and degrease which prevents impregnation of media onto the component. One of the major advantages of wetblasting is that it is a dust free process.
Will metal components rust after Aqua Blasting?: Although the Aquablast machine uses water to blast components, rust inhibitors and other detergents can be added to the application to ensure that metal components do not rust or corrode. Call us today to find out more.
Aftercare: After we clean your part, care is taken to wash/clean the parts after Aquablasting but ultimately the owner must make sure the part is free from blast media/debris before refitting.
